The Problem

Research continues to prove that neglecting the boy child manifests itself in increased conflicts with the law, mental illness, an illiterate population, increased crime, high suicide rate, substance abuse, truancy, low self-esteem and premature death. Boys' issues are troubling and often overlooked. Neglecting a boy child cripples the dream to achieve gender equality and sustainable economy.

Our Solution

We are heeded to the call of mentoring, coaching, counseling, empowering and upskilling boys in South Africa to be game changers and distinguished future leaders.

Thus far boy children in communities of Thembisa, Vosloorus and Soweto in the Gauteng Province, Mokopane and Burgersfort in the Limpopo Province have benefited from services offered by the Foundation.

We use play and creativity as fun ways of learning and establishing strong social bonds and facilitate the transfer of critical skills and knowledge.

We tackle human rights violation act such as gender based violence and social problems such as mental illness by raising awareness, educating and counseling through drama-therapy and talk-therapy (dialogue).

We work closely with communities, role models and father figures from various sectors and professions collectively aiming to parent and mentor the boy child to reach his full potential.

Our Campaigns

Dear Son

The community at large is invited to participate in a dialogue where we dissect topics that concern the development of the boy child and his global standing. In the process the same group explores a letter writing methodology. Dear Son aims to empower, explore cultural diversity, foster healthy relationships and contribute towards solving the health crisis especially mental health.
